Special Word from Dr. Turner

Dear Brothers and Sisters of CPC:

We are in times like none of us has ever experienced before. Never has any leader of the greatest nation of the free world ever asked the Body of Christ to not meet on God’s day before.  Yet, we are today awaiting in our own homes, seeking our Holy God, anticipating Him moving in ways like we have never seen!

God has directed me to a passage that I believe He wants us, His Covenant people to receive this day.

Matthew 8:24-27:  “And when He was entered into a ship, his disciples followed Him.  And, there arose a great storm in the sea, so powerful that the ship was covered with the waves.  But Jesus was asleep!  The disciples came and awoke him, saying, “Lord, save us!  We perish!”  And He said to them, “why are you fearful, oh you of little faith?”  He then got up and rebuked the wind and the sea; and there was a great calm.  When the men marveled, they said, what manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him??

Friends, we are surrounded by many people today walking in fear and responding in panic. I can understand with so many in this world having no faith in God and trusting in man rather than God, to see fear raging in people’s minds and hearts. But, let’s remind ourselves that we serve a mighty God! He is greater than any weapon Satan might raise up against His people!

His disciples had been with Jesus for quite some time, observing Him perform miracles, heal brokenness and blindness. They had listened as He spoke powerful words, instructing us to walk in faith, to live by faith, to believe in faith!

Yet, here they are frightened by a turbulent sea, watching Him sleep while they become more fearful, more panicked, thinking death was about to engulf them! “Lord, save us: we perish!!!??!?!”

Realize God is not surprised by Covid-19, He is not troubled by Coronavirus! Did He not say, “Come to me, you who are heavy hearted, and I will give you rest!”?  Our God is a mighty God! Draw your peace from Him this day, and the coming days! He is with you and He will guide and strengthen you!

We are not walking these days of the unknown alone. “He is there all the time, comforting and strengthening you. When the enemy try’s to tell you that you won’t make it through these times, remind him that God’s word says God wins and Satan loses!!!

Lift up our nation, our President, our elected officials, and our members of Covenant to God’s Throne of Grace!

I love each of you!

Pastor Walter

Sunday School - 10 AM

A time for study is held each Sunday morning beginning at 10AM in the church fellowship hall.  Everyone is welcome.

Dr. Turner is leading us in a study  on the Holy Spirit in the World Today.

Morning Worship - 11 AM

The purpose of worship is to ascribe all praise, honor and glory to the Triune God. We shall bend our knee only to God and therefore we will not worship any person, style, music or building. Worship is our invitation to know Jesus and so we will endeavor to approach our Lord in Spirit and in Truth, knowing that all we say or do is to be to the glory of God so that reverent worship may permeate every moment of our lives.

                                                     (Psalm 100:3, 1 Corinthians 10:31, John 4:24, Exodus 20:4-6)
